Waitress
Dominating Partner
Submitted by Elation on Mon, 03/16/2009 - 15:34In the movie Waitress, Jenna's relationship with her husband Earl is extremely turbulent. He provides her with a comfortable living. At the same time, he is controlling, dominating, possessive, suspicious, abusive, violent, fearful, disgusting, etc. He is all that any woman would not want in a man. Jenna is a fine person but cannot love Earl. If she had changed her attitude of hatred and fear and tried to develop a liking for him, could she have made her marriage work and made her life much better than it was? Could her love have changed him and made him dropped his hateful behavior? Could she have had a possibility for greater joy in her life if she stayed with him but taken a different attitude?
